BY CAR FROM CANCUN:,Just follow all the signs for “Merida Libre and NO CUOTA (NO TOLL).” About 70km (about 43.5mi), at the intersection with “El Ideal,” follow the signs for “Kantunilkin-Holbox.” This will lead you to the Chiquila dock. It is about a 2 ½ hour journey.

BY BUS FROM CANCUN CITY: From the Bus Terminal (Tulum Ave. and Uxmal Ave.) you need to take the bus for Chiquila, whose departing times are: 5:30am, 7:30am, 12:40pm and 1:30pm. It is approximately a 4 hour trip and the tickets are around $85 pesos (about $7 USD).

SHUTTLE SERVICES: The easiest way to get to Holbox is to contract a shuttle from Cancún or The Mayan Riviera. Experienced drivers will take you in an air-conditioned van to the door of your hotel on Holbox. Round-trip transportation is available at any time.

UPON ARRIVAL IN CHIQUILA:you need to take the Holbox ferry from the main dock. In the mid- to low-season (of tourism) the ferry leaves every two hours. In the high-season it is every hour. The trip is approximately 20min with a price of $80 pesos (about $7 USD)
